Week 4 Recap

  • While Aaron Slack put on quite the performance, cashing in on 29 points off of 50% shooting from the field and behind the 3pt line, he still has not made time for his photoshoot.
  • While technically not the player who made the most 3s this past Sunday, Ethan Spence has made a splash in his first season, by draining 3 shots behind the arc to go along with 9 rebounds.
  • Tim Johnson has earned a spot on our weekly highlight for a stat that he is normally not known for: assists, dishing out a league leading 6 assists to go along with 6 rebounds and 2 steals
  • A familiar name to these weekly highlights, Ryno Moore recorded a league high 4 steals, but I am sure he would trade those for 4 made FTs as that would have won the game for his team
  • I made a joke about Scott Brummett being a “spring chicken” after grabbing 20 rebounds last week, but he kept it going this week, leading all big men AGAIN with 13 rebounds while shooting 66% from the field
  • Marquis Hogue gets our highlight reel award this week, dishing out a beautiful no look dime to Aaron Slack off the give and go. We will post that play on our IG!
  • Shoot By Faith, Not By Sight continues to dominate this season, extending their win streak to 4 against the aptly named floppies. The dynamic duo of Tyler Bernth and Brandon “B” Porras could not be stopped. Ryno Moore tried to put the team on his back, with 21 points and helped to bring his team within 3, but those 7 missed free throws came back to haunt him.
  • Oops Wrong League is on the other end of the spectrum, and was able to extend their lose streak to 4 despite having 2 players make the highlights of the weekMichael Van Egmond had his revenge game against his former captain, cashing in on 22 points. Matias Seccombe cut his luscious locks, but the combination of a new hair do and the multitude of colors he wore did not help his shot. Luckily Tyler Sewell and Michael picked up the slack on offense, while Jacob Brummett and Justin Philobos anchored the team defensively. Hopefully Kai Husen can figure out how to break his team out of their shooting slump, as they shot 26% as a team.
  • Tic Tac Toe was without their captain, but were still able to secure the win against the Slackers despite Aaron Slack’s mesmerizing performance. The Slackers made multiple efforts to bring the game close, but ultimately, lacked the offense to grab the win. As a team, they shot 5/32 from behind the 3pt line, and all 5 made 3s belonged to Aaron. The Tic Tac Toe team is never without offensive weapons, with Nathan Brummett putting up 28 points on 85% shooting from inside the 3pt line and 100% from the charity stripe.
  • As a league, our overall shooting percentages are still trending downward except for FT%
